Things On My Mind Pt. 2
By alex | July 17, 2007
DIGG
“Let me just put this in perspective: If HIV-AIDS were the leading cause of death of white women between the ages of 25 and 34 there would be an outraged, outcry in this country.” -Hillary Clinton
Let me start with a bit of transparency, which I know on an opinion blog isn’t needed but I believe in fairness, I don’t know why since this is America, but I do. I am not a supporter of Hillary Clinton and the prospect of her becoming the Democratic Nominee much less President makes me nervous, more on that at another time.
What Hillary said was racist, maybe true, hardly honest, but racist none the less.
“But Alex your black and a democrat, you mean to tell me that Liberals can be racist too?”
Yes they can, and here is why.

Things On My Mind Pt. 1
By alex | July 17, 2007
Why is it that we so willingly overlook bigotry and hatred when the person is of a certian status or stature, or just overlooked by mainstream media and culture. Today I have an example of each.
They site several decisions of concern, but the Richmond v. Mississippi Department of Human Services, decision stands out. Southwick, in a 5-4 ruling, allowed a White state social worker to get his job back after being fired for calling an African-American co-worker “a good ole nigger.â€

RANDOM THOUGHTS: By leslie
By alex | July 12, 2007
This is a post our contributor Leslie left on his site a few days ago. I thought it was moving, enjoy.

I was walking through town today and made a snap judgment about a woman who walked past me. As I walked on, feeling smugly superior, I realized I had noticed a brush of sadness as her mask slipped for a moment and I heard a furious voice in my head I won’t forget. “How dare you judge her? You don’t know her story. How dare you think of yourself as better.” I had to stop at what is probably best described as the quiet righteous wrath of God. It took me a moment to compose myself. No, I’m not likely to forget that soon.

Things That Are Just Wrong
By alex | July 12, 2007
Over the weekend, a 2-year-old boy was banned from using the pool or
showers in an RV park because he was HIV positive. The toddler was vacationing with his foster parents in Alabama and the

if the child upchucked on them or from blood or what. We didn’t know what the
risk was. That’s why we asked for something from their doctor or the county
health department.”Of COURSE this child was black.
